Chicago is where trading of futures for commodities was first established and Chicago remains a major world center of exchanges and trading. Located in Chicago are the Chicago Board of Trade, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (the two merged in 2007 to become the CME Group), the U.S. Futures Exchange, the Chicago Stock Exchange and the Chicago Climate Exchange.
